Rino Stefano Tagliafierro’s animated video ‘Beauty’ tells the story of life and death. Nature-morte has been given a life of its own in this interpretation. The animation of old traditional paintings throughout this video are so realistic, a viewer might expect some of them to be photographic. Visually, the flow of movement is mesmerizing, with the mixed medium, handcrafting and digital editing, following the onset advancement of technology. Our experience of media is changing, books and static imagery often being pushed aside for a new reliance on devices and digital media. I love the way an image can be brought to life using such little movement, it still feels very engaging.
